Last weekend we worked on the mechanics of the footclutch pedal. The parts we made will be hidden behind the left motormount plate, but that is no reason not to make them look good! The idea here is that a foot is much stronger than a hand and the clutchpedal is quite long too, so first of all it needs an adjustable stop to protect the master cylinder, and second it needs an adjustable return spring to compensate for the weight of the pedal

 
 
 
 
After making a quick and dirty steel template to get the correct dimensions we started with a nice stainless steel version. Then mostly welding, filing, sanding, polishing I guess. A lot.
 
 
Finally we found a nice lump of stainless to make the clutch pedal itself from, and scribed a line where we will machine the taper of the pedal.
