Cadbike 36 project started August 2006
20 March 2007 Added taillight and some renderings with lights on. 13 March 2007 Added a revcounter hidden inside the fairing, also added radial controls for front brake and hydraulic clutch, built into the handlebars. 6 February 2007 Added rear brake linkage, plugwires and ignition coil 30 January 2007 I added fuelvalves and fuellines, did not have much time this week... 23 January 2007 I removed the slots in the rear sprocket and replaced them with holes to match the rest of the bike, also added shifter linkage and shift- and brakepedals 26 December 2006 I copied the perforated strap that I had on the fueltank to the fairing and rearend, and added rear footpedals. I also added the number 36 to the sides of the fueltank. 12 December 2006 I decided to go for a real racy riding position with the footrests mounted waaay back. The open belt and clutch were a problem so I designed a "british looking" primary cover to protect the left foot of the rider. I also added a very low mounted headlight with a mini-fairing or nacelle. Not sure yet if I am going to keep this... 31 October 2006 Added top motormounts (on both sides!) and moved the top mount of the front shock so that there is more room to adjust it. I also added a bracket for the Weber carb and added some more details to the brake calipers 17 October 2006 I added some 8 piston brake calipers front and rear, made a stainless steel drilled tankstrap and added handlebar grips (also drilled). The pipes are chrome instead of black now. 10 October 2006 Changed the chain tensioner and axle block on the swingarm, added some heatshields to the pipes, changed the brakediscs, made a slot in the top of the fueltank with a rubber strip, on top of this I will make a stainless steel mounting strap. I also added an aluminum oiltank under the gearbox 3 October 2006 Added some gold stripes to tank and rearend, changed the rear pipe to chrome and added clipon style handlebars, only these clamp to the top tree instead of to the forkleg, so I guess "officially" they are not really clipons at all.... 26 September 2006: I completed the rear suspension, added some reinforcements to the swingarm, added a solo seat with a new exhaust poking out from under it. Not really happy with the pipe yet, maybe next week I will try a different style. 19 September 2006: I added a removeable front framesection, on the left side it is connected to the beltplate, it connects to the front motormounts and on the rightside it sweeps up and connects with the frame. This piece can be removed to take out the engine and gearbox. I also redesigned the swingarm and added some slots to the rear sprocket. 12 September 2006: On the left side the gearbox and engine have been connected by a beltplate, that is connected to the tubeframe. On the right side the gearbox has a new beltcover that is also connected to the tubeframe. The rear motormounts of the engine have also been connected, so the whole thing is getting turned into a stiff and compact unit because the swingarm will not be mounted to the tubeframe but between beltplate and gearbox cover. The rear Ohlins shock has been positioned on the right under the gearbox leaving enough room for the oiltank. It will need some linkage to make it push instead of pull the shock. Oh yeah, I also added a cool gascap......... 5 September 2006: I added a Weber DCOE carb to the Garrett turbocharger, angled backwards to keep the bike narrow without inter- fering with the rider's legs. Also added more frametubes;-) 29 August 2006: I changed the pipes to tuck them in closer to the frame and modified the left side of the frame to make more room for them. I also had to cut some cooling ribs of the rear cylinder. I completed the "BMW Telelever" or "Hossack" front suspension with an Ohlins shock. 22 August 2006: Added a Garrett turbocharger, had to move the electric starter under the gearbox to make room for it. Worked on frame, added a fueltank in "British Racing Green", started work on exhaust pipes, and modified the pattern in the perimeter brakes. 15 August 2006: Designed a telelever front fork, like the newer BMW's have; a single shock will be mounted behind the neck. I also started work on the rear swingarm (yep, it has a front swingarm too...) making it a single sided swing that goes on the outside of the rear sprocket. A pair of perimeter brakediscs have also been added, now where am I going to put that turbo??? Or should I go for a supercharger? 8 August 2006: I added some 5-spoke wheels I designed in the same sizes as the Triumph Daytona 955I that am using as a "template" for the handling. The front wheel is 17 x 3.5 and the rear wheel is 17 x 6.0, tires are 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/50 ZR 17 rear. I also added chain and sprockets and some detail views. The bike can lean 55 degrees to each side without scraping any parts thanks to the raised gearbox and narrow belt/clutch. 1 August 2006: Started by using wheelbase, trail, rake and wheel/ tiresize of a 2006 Triumph Daytona 955I, combined with a Twincam A powerplant and a 6 speed rightsidedrive gearbox
