I bought Adele a "new" Sportster 1200 hardtail chopper
and will be putting that in CAD and giving it a bit of a makeover
between weekends so she can keep riding it. It is a challenge
to scan a bike without taking it apart but my new Einscan Rigil
scanner is proving to be very usefull. The CAD model will be used
to try out different parts and color schemes, I had already modeled
a Sportster engine and a Springer frontend before, (CAD models
available in webshop)
so am trying to get the frame in CAD first

| The higher rear tire on the real bike was rubbing the fender
which got very hot and started melting the battery, so I modified
the fender for more clearance and repositioned the battery lower
and further forward. Also used the CAD model to design the sissybar
before making it for real. The CAD model has already been usefull
to figure out stuff like this. |
