Probably the most complicated parts of an engine to model in CAD are the cylinder heads.
As with all the other parts, I started by laserscanning the real parts, using my Einscan Pro 2X Plus.
The next step was post-processing the raw scan data to clean CAD with PTC CREO Parametric, in this case quite a lot of work. I estimate post-processing one cylinder head was about twentyfour hours work.
Finally I exported the CAD-data to Keyshot and made some renderings and an animation. Onwards with the front cylinder head, which regrettably is not a mirror copy of the rear one.
