I had forgotten to show the last few pics
of the cast aluminium footclutch prototype mounted on my bike so
here they are. I might make a few more of these footclutches
if there is enough interest for them
After a few test rides I decided the bike
really could use a bigger battery and decided to cast a battery
mount so I could hang any easily available battery on the side of
the bike. I made a CAD model, printed it with thin walls to save a
few bucks and then filled the hollow mold with polyester to make
it stronger.
I made a sandcasting and machined
it, it uses two existing lugs on the frame behind the belt. Next I will cast a
top cover and probably make a sheetmetal piece to cover the sides of the
battery.
