Project started October 2023,

For this week the plan was to work on the seating area. We want a straight line from neck to rear axle so the seat will be lowered quite a bit. We also want to keep the cast shock mounts, but they will need to be modified a bit.

 
 
 

We took the stock seating area and removed all the tubes and tabs we were not using untill we had just the 2 castings connected with one tube. A quick mockup showed that the angle of the bottom of the castrings would need to be changed...

 
 
 

As you can see there was quite a bit of "sculpting" necessary to make the castings look like they belong this way

 
 
 
 

We suspended the castings with vicegrips and scrapiron in the new location, Hans the carpenter also took a critical look haha, now we will put it all back together with a mix of old and new tubes and in theory it will be like it always was like this...
