Project
started May 2026,
| This project is quite different from previous ones, we bought
the bike at the beginning of the riding season so I will be making
several upgrades between rides without taking the whole bike apart
yet. In the winter it will get repainted but for now Adele wants
to ride it! |
Because the sissybar and new rear fender were not quite ready
yet, I had put the old fender back for the Chopperbash. Asd it
turned out the Shinko rear tire was bigger in diameter than the
old Avon and had rubbed the fender, generating enough heat to
start melting the battery... It does still work though, haha
Anyway back to work on the fender and sissybar, after relocating
the battery tray between the framerails and closer to the seatpost
so that won't happen again! |
| I had already mounted some tabs on the sissybar but the position
was not ideal so I cut them off again. I made a curved bar where
the fender mounts will go and using steel strips attached with
Ducttape to position the fender just right I tacked the mounting
ears in place on the bike. |
| For now I just painted the sissybar with Rustoleum paint
so Adele can ride the bike again, the taillight and numberplate
will be relocated to the sissybar later and eventually it will
be chromed. Still on the to-do list are mounting an Alien tank,
making a new seat, fixing the wobbly sidestand and mayby rabbit
ear handlebars?
