Project started October 2023,

We complete the top motormount

The little jig we made for the top motormount came in quite handy. We tried to make a part that would look as old as the motor (made from 1936 to 1947) so definitely no CNC! We wanted it to look like something that was made by a blacksmith. The stock motormounts on a knuckle were made from 3 mm steel strip, ours has a T shape with the vertical part 6 mm and the horizontal part 4 mm thick, so should be plenty strong.

After welding and grinding we gave the whole thing a textured surface, we are happy with the result!

Next the frame part of the top motormount and then the swingarm.
