The Hydraulic Press
To save some space in my workshop I am moumting the hydraulic press on the pedestal of my (now vertical) belsander. I had already added new, higher mounting flanges to the pedestal. In the pics below I add a mounting flange for the press and strengthen everything with 6 mm thick gussets.

The press can be removed easily so I can use that spave for other tools like the beadroller for example. After test prtessing a few parts for the XA sparkplugcaps that I am making I managed to bend the top of the press. I guess 12 tons was too much, haha. I cut off the bent top and replaced it with a beefier version, and while I was at it I added some extra height in the vertical stands.

After finishing the press frame modifications I used some 60 x 10 mm strips to mount caster wheels on all 4 corners. This not only makes it easy to move around the shop but also adds some more stability.

Now I will use the press and sander to make the XA sparkplugcaps that I needed them for and maybe when all that is finished I will take the beltsander and press combination apart for paint or powdercoat, but for now it works!
