To make the new fron pipe I needed various bits of the old front pipe, for starters I needed the rear bit with the baffle. Because of the dent we made a few weeks ago for the rear shock, I now found that I couldn't remove the baffle without completely destroying the dented section, so I did. To keep as much ground clearance as possible we wanted to build the pipe as far up and in as possible, so we relocated the rear brake master cilinder to make some room. This means we will also have to modify the brakepedal, but thats not a problem.

We sorted through all the pipe sections and bends we had left and found that some were 51 millimeters and others were 50! The new front pipe was constructed from 8 separate pieces of 50 mm pipe, one of the sections had to be machined down from 51 to 50 because we couldn't find enough pieces with the same diameter... Next time I do something like this I think I'll by 10 feet of new stainless pipe and a large bag of brand new welding bends, that would make the whole job a lot easier.....
