Determined to at least finish the pipes, we started by removing the wooden blocks from under the bike and checking the pipes with Aad sitting on the bike. It turned out that the end of the front pipe was not horizontal so we fixed that and completed all the welds. The rear pipe had its new start section welded in and then was re-aligned with the front pipe. We cleaned all the welds using a modified angle-grinder (made into a handy beltsander by Johan Heemskerk)

Both pipes were glass beaded and remounted on the bike so we could dream up some cool brackets. The bracket we made earlier for the rear pipe did not look like it was going to be strong enough and looked ugly anyway, so we fabricated a steel bracket that we welded onto the frame behind the rear pipe. The bracket for the front pipe that we made last week, needed to be made over because it was just a little bit to short, but we finally finished the pipes and started with the last job: relocating the brake reservoir and brakepedal ...
