A few years ago when I was planning to sell the old XS, my partner Adele told me "no way, that would be a good bike for me!" so we kept it. Last year she rode it quite a bit, even riding it to the Tripout in England with me and a group of friends. We decided to give it a new paint job for this year and ofcourse one thing led to another....

Adele wanted to do as much as possible herself, so we started by removing the old paint with industrial strength paintstripper! Wrapping the parts in thin plastic sheet after applying the paintstripper keeps it from drying too fast. I made a little blockoff plate for the fuelvalve connection and a plug for the gascap and the tank and seat were sent to Royal Jack for some Candy Tangerine over Metalflake

While waiting for the paint we decided to do something about the messy wiring, again Adele did a lot of the work herself!

I cut off several unused brackets from the frame and painted the frametubes with a rattlecan, next winter we will strip the whole bike and powdercoat the frame but now it is already spring and time to ride.

We are replacing the enormous stock dash with a MMB mini speedo and moving the ignition switch from the stock location above the headlight to a new location under the tank. Ignition switch relocation bracket made from a piece of steel from the scrap iron. Actually there is no such thing as "scrap iron", the ignition switch is now mounted on the 2 bolts of the horn bracket.
