Project started October 2023,

Aad finished welding the 8 mm rod along the bottom edge of the left panel of the oiltank, the reason it is welded to the side first and not to the bottom is so that any warping in the side can be corrected as long as it is not mounted to the bottom. Left side actually came out looking nicer than the right side, the right side still looked too big..

So back to the right side, it is no bigger than stock but it somehow did not look right yet. We had stamped an extra primary cover and I thought welding in the "58" part might look cool, so I cut it out and Aad shaped it to follow the curve of the tank and welded it in. We like it!

Making the roundbar edge takes a lot of time but in the end we think it is worth it.

We are now ready to make the rear and top of the tank and weld it all together. We will probably start on the rear exhaust next and weld the oilline connections in the tank after that, when we will have a better view of the best routing for the oillines.
